Call to Worship

Have someone read aloud:

Romans 8:31-33 (NKJV)

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies.

Prayer

O what gracious love You have lavished upon us, Your children. We are recipients of Your marvelous love and awesome power in Christ that set us apart as blessed people. Thank You, Lord. You alone are worthy of our highest love and devotion. Be exalted in our worship and praises to You. Amen.

R-13: THE SON OF GOD (聖子上帝)

John 1:1-3, 14; Colossians 1:15-17; 2:8-9; John 6:68-69 (NKJV)

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.

Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily;

But Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. Also we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

Song of Response

Lyrics - Fairest Lord Jesus

Worship through Prayer

  1. My heart praises You for Your mercy and kindness. You have loved a sinner like me. I am truly unworthy. Yet You have chosen to love me so much. May I never lose the wonder and preciousness of Your unconditional love for me.

  2. Thank You for the gift of salvation and eternal life in Christ. Thank You for the countless opportunities to start all over again when I mess up.  Thank You that I could continue to live in holiness and righteousness all the days of my life.

  3. Bless me with a heart that forgives. Help me extend love and mercy to all my offenders. May I learn to forgive and love them again. Let me be a blessing of peace to them. Allow me to experience the joy that comes with freeing others to live forgiven and thrive in Your love in spite of their past sins and failures.

Self-Reflection & Discussion

  1. God extends grace to all who do not deserve it. God loves all people equally. God forgives sinners. God fixes the most broken of conditions. God saves us through His Son Jesus Christ, the Promised Messiah. Which of the five truths about God resonates most with you?

  2. Looking at your family history, how do these truths encourage you?

  3. What are some things you want to thank God for--amazing things He has done for you even when you think that you don’t deserve them?
